What is an Exercise Scientist?

ACCREDITED EXERCISE SCIENTIST (AES)

Accredited Exercise Scientists (AES) are required to hold an approved minimum 3 years Bachelor degree in exercise science and complete an approved 140 hours of practical work experience in a well-being and/or performance settings.

Included in an Accredited Exercise Scientist’s degree is the in-depth study of anatomy, exercise physiology, biomechanics, sports medicine, motor control, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular exercise.

Also addressed through-out their degree is the latest research across all these areas and the learning of a specific set of skills to allow them to critically analyse the latest research findings and apply them in an effective manner for the benefit of their clientele. Exercise Scientists play a very important role in the allied health care sector.

WHAT CAN AN EXERCISE SCIENTIST DO AFTER GRADUATION?

After graduation and successful registration, AES’s can work in a multitude of areas including education and healthy living initiatives, high-performance sport and as cardiac technicians and highly educated Personal Trainers.

Personal Training sessions with Matt at our North Brisbane Personal Training Studio are available early mornings for $60 per 45 minutes. Partnered sessions with Matt are available from $70 per hour.
