Whether it's a recent injury or something that's been building for months, KC Health Services will find out what's going on and get you back to full activity.
Does this sound familiar?
Shoulder pain can come on suddenly or build gradually over time. Either way, it rarely gets better on its own — and the longer it's left, the harder it can be to treat. If any of these sound familiar, it's time to get it properly assessed.
Common conditions we treat
Shoulder pain can stem from many different causes. Getting an accurate diagnosis is the first and most important step — the right treatment depends entirely on what's actually going on.
Tears, strains and tendinopathy affecting the rotator cuff muscles — one of the most common causes of shoulder pain in active people.
Pain and pinching when lifting the arm, caused by tendons becoming compressed within the shoulder joint during movement.
Progressive stiffness and pain that significantly limits shoulder movement, often requiring a structured, staged rehabilitation approach.
A feeling of looseness or giving way in the shoulder, often following a dislocation or due to joint hypermobility.
Pain at the top of the shoulder, commonly aggravated by reaching across the body or overhead — often seen in athletes and manual workers.
Shoulder symptoms that originate from the neck — a frequently missed cause that requires a thorough assessment to identify correctly.
Our approach
We don't just treat symptoms — we take the time to understand why your shoulder is painful and address the root cause so you can get back to what you love and stay there.
Step 01
A detailed examination of your shoulder, movement patterns, strength and history to accurately diagnose what's driving your pain.
Step 02
Hands-on physiotherapy and a structured exercise program tailored to your specific diagnosis, lifestyle and goals.
Step 03
A graded loading program based on exercise science principles that rebuilds strength, control and confidence in your shoulder.
Step 04
Getting you back to sport, training or daily life — not just pain-free, but stronger and more resilient than before.

Matt — Director & Principal Physiotherapist
Matt brings 20 years of experience in health, fitness and rehabilitation, including 7 years as a qualified physiotherapist — a combination that shapes how he treats every patient, not just what he knows.
He holds dual degrees in Physiotherapy and Exercise Science, along with additional certifications in fitness, massage therapy, and training and education. This broader background means treatment goes beyond symptom relief: Matt builds real strength and resilience so problems are less likely to return.
Matt's sporting background runs deep. Having grown up playing football, he went on to work as team physio for multiple local football clubs and provided physiotherapy coverage for Football Australia in both the A-League and Queensland Premier League — giving him extensive hands-on experience with running-related injuries, return-to-play protocols, and the demands of competitive sport.
Whether it's a shoulder that's stopping you from lifting your kids, a knee holding you back from your morning run, or recovery after surgery, Matt's approach is the same: understand what's really going on, treat it properly, and build a plan that gets you back to the life you want — with strength to spare.
Matt completes extensive further education every year, with recent focus areas including sports physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, shoulder pain and rehabilitation, men's health, and running-related injury and rehab.
Based at KC Health Services in Stafford Heights, Matt offers in-clinic physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, and rehabilitation, as well as home-visit physiotherapy across the surrounding area.
